The Bible says we all know that God exists, but that we suppress that knowledge in unrighteousness. That means we deny what we know. This attitude of denial makes us very guilty.
We deny the truth because we don't want God to be there or rule our lives. But God is still God, whether we like it or not. He has nothing to do with religion. Religion is what people think, dream or wish about a probable god. That's why religion is subjective and cannot give us that absolute and solid foundation on which we can live. And religion cannot help us to get rid of our guilt.
Fortunately God provided in a wonderful solution. Here it is:
2000 years ago Jesus, Gods eternal Son, came from heaven to this world, not to start a religion or to give us some advice. He came to pay for all that God calls sin. He didn't pay with a visacard or money. He paid for your and my sins with His own life, by dying voluntarily on a terrible cross. He received the punishment that we deserved.
The moment you believe God when He said that you are guilty, like all other men, and believe that Jesus paid for all of your sins, you are fully forgiven forever. God will and can never judge you, for His Son was judge in your place! At that very moment God will become your heavenly Father and you receive eternal life!
